Former Black Starlets winger, Ibrahim Sadiq netted a brace last Friday night to lead his side AZ Alkmaar to a precious 1-2 away win over PEC Zwolle at the MAC3 Park in the Dutch Eredivise.
The ex-Right to Dream Academy graduate, lasted 86 minutes in the match-week six fixture and was really unplayable right from onset.
Sadiq, opened the scoring for AZ Alkmaar just six minutes into the game when he brilliantly slotted a pass from Ruben van Bommel into the back of the home side's net.
The 24-year-old kept tormenting the backline of the hosts and doubled the lead for AZ Alkmaar with a fine strike in the 51st minute of the game.
Reacting to his vintage performance, the mercurial winger confessed it was a difficult game against a very good side but added winning away from home makes them very excited and are hoping to maintain the same momentum.
"Truly, truly, it was tough, though. We didn't have a nice game, but I think we are happy with our points,” Sadiq told the club after the game.
“I think they were good; to be frank with you, I think they were good, and they were also really active.
“We were also active, but I think that if you come up with a game away, at times it's hard. Still, I think we stood firm and did our best.”
Ibrahim Sadiq has now scored four goals and provided three assists in six league appearances for AZ Alkmaar in the ongoing season's campaign.
