Former Asante Kotoko midfielder, Enoch Morrison has apologized to the entire Hearts of Oak fraternity for somehow ditching them to join Kenyan giants Gor Mahia ahead of the upcoming season.

The versatile middleman is a victim of the mass player exodus at his former club Asante Kotoko at the end of last season by head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.

He was chased by lots of clubs afterwards with Hearts of Oak the front runners, per reports but ended up signing for the Kenyan champions in a very astonishing fashion.

In response to ditching Hearts of Oak, the 26-year-old really explained the reasons behind that and has also rendered an unqualified apology to all the supporters and vows to join them someday. He told Akoma FM in Kumasi

"Hearts of Oak did not communicate with me directly, which made the deal more complicated. I knew they were interested in me, but for one or two reasons, the process took longer than anticipated. If the delay hadn't happened, I would have played for Hearts of Oak."

"During our multiple meetings, the Hearts coach expressed interest and explained how I would fit into his team. Because both of us were interested in the deal, I cannot hold Hearts responsible for its failure. I can only say that because it was not intentional, they should accept my apologies in this regard."

"Hearts fans from around the world showed me a lot of love, especially after learning that the club was interested in my services. They did a lot of things for me that I can't mention, so I was eager to play for Hearts."

"They should forgive me, I am sorry but perhaps I can return and play for them at the appropriate time."

In his first season with Kotoko, Morrison made 31 appearances, scoring three goals and providing two assists, before building on that form in his second campaign, where he made 22 appearances, scoring once and providing two assists.

He's started preseason with the 21-time Kenyan conquerors already and is looking forward to establishing himself as mainstay right away before the commencement of the 2024/25 football season.
