Dutch-born of Ghanaian descent Jeremie Frimpong scored and provided an assist in Bayer Leverkusen five-goal thriller win over Werder Bremen in the German Bundesliga on Sunday.
Frimpong registered his name on the score sheet on the 56th minute to ensure the Red and Black lads to secure an important away win at the Wohninvest Weser Stadion.
Werder Bremen took the lead on the half-hour mark through Marvin Ducksch before Frimpong set up Mitchel Bakker to level the score on the 34 minute, ending the first half in a one-all draw.
Eleven minutes after the break, the 22-year-old scored brilliantly to give Bayer Leverkusen a 2-1 lead before it was extended by Adam Hlozek on the 83rd minute.
A late penalty converted by Niclas Fullkrug wasn't enough to salvage a point for Werder Bremen as the fixture ended in a 3-2 win for the visitors.
Frimpong enjoyed 62 minutes of the game before he got replaced by Edmond Tapsoba while Timothy Fosu-Mensah warmed the bench.
The former Manchester City starlet has scored six goals and provided eight assists in his 32 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen across all competitions this season so far.
Frimpong, who was born to Ghanaian parents in , was eligible to represent either Ghana, England or Netherlands and he has opted to play for the Dutch.
