Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus has shed light on his preferred role on the field following his crucial goal in West Ham United's 1-1 Premier League draw against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 24-year-old, who registered his third goal of the 2024-2025 campaign, shared that he feels most at ease operating on the right side of the attack, either as an inside forward or an inverted winger.

Kudus marked his goal with a unique celebration, sitting on a traditional Ghanaian stool adorned with an elephant motif at its base. Speaking after the match, he revealed that the gesture was a tribute to his cultural roots.

“It felt great to score, and the goal came from my natural position on the right,” Kudus said. “But it’s always about the team, and I’ll continue learning and improving to adapt wherever the coach needs me.”

Despite serving a five-match ban earlier in the season, Kudus has made 12 Premier League appearances for West Ham, underlining his growing influence in the team.
