Ghanaian international, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku's highly-anticipated permanent move to newly-promoted Premier League side Leicester City could hit the snag following a transfer embargo which has been placed on the club that stops them from making new additions.
The 20-year-old joined Leicester City on loan from Portuguese giants Sporting CP prior to the start of the ongoing season with a permanent clause added if he is able to play 60% of their matches and also help them secure promotion back into the Premier League.
The versatile forward was sensational since joining the King Power Stadium-based side having netted 7 goals and provided 13 assists in 42 matches in all competitions and has helped them significantly to secure a Premier League return.
After accomplishing the obligations and fulfilling all clauses with still a game to spare, Leicester City are expected to make his move permanent by paying €17m to his mother club Sporting CP
However, the current English Championship conquerors per reports, will struggle to sign Abdul Fatawu Issahaku permanently following the transfer embargo that has been labelled on them for breaching profitability and sustainability rules (PSR) for the ending period of the 2022/23 season before their relegation from the topflight.
However, the Blues have already released a statement to confirm their innocence and are ever ready to appeal the decision to obligate them to make new signings in the next transfer window and also avoid any future punishments like points deduction and others.
Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is expected to make the starting line up once again this weekend when Leicester City host Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, May 4, 2024
