Ghanaian second-tier side Steadfast FC will earn 50% should Abdul Fatawu Issahaku's move to Leicester City from Sporting CP be made permanent in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old, professionally, started playing at Steadfast FC where he joined from Tamale Utrecht Academy in 2019 but earned a huge move to the Estadio Jose Alvalade subsequently after an impressive spell at the 2021 Africa U20 Cup of Nations where he was adjudged best player of the tournament.

Steadfast FC included a 50% onward transfer clause when transferring the player to the Portuguese giants despite receiving an initial transfer fee of €1.2m.

Fatawu Issahaku after impressing at the youth side in his early stages at Sporting CP, manager Ruben Amorim promoted him to the first team but he struggled to earn playing time.

He was subsequently loaned out to Leicester City prior to the start of the ongoing season with a permanent clause added if he is able to play 60% of their matches and also help them secure promotion back in the Premier League.

The versatile forward was sensational since joining the King Power Stadium-based side having 7 goals and provided 13 assists in 42 matches in all competitions and has helped them gain a Premier League return.

After accomplishing the task, the Foxes now, are to trigger the player's release clause of €17m of which Steadfast FC will receive €7.9m

This is because of the 50% onward clause included. Sporting CP after receiving the €17m, will deduct the initial €1.2m they paid for Fatawu's transfer and will be left with €15.8m- which will be shared equally by both teams

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is expected to make the starting line up once again this weekend when Leicester City host Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, May 4, 2024.
