The Danish Third-Tier side have announced the signing of the striker of Ghanaian descent in an undisclosed period of contract in this winter transfer window

Danish-born Ghanaian centre-forward Justin Shaibu has completed his move to Danish 2nd Division side BK Frem, the club have confirmed.

The 27-year-old former Brentford attacker is joining the Copenhagen-based club on a free transfer after staying unattached throughout last term when he parted ways with Second Division outfit Hilleröd Fodbold during the 2023-24 campaign.

An official confirmation over his signing read: ''FREM Football Club is delighted to welcome 27-year-old striker Justin Shaibu , who most recently represented Hillerød. Justin was sold to English club Brentford at the age of 19, where he also played for the first team and was loaned to Walsall and Boreham Wood. Earlier in his career, he has also played for HB Køge, FC Fredericia, Lyngby, Hobro and Hillerød.''

''In addition to his club racing, Justin has experience from the Danish U17, U18 and U20 national teams. After a period of injuries, he is now well on his way back to fitness and has been training with FREM in recent months.''

Right after appending his signature to the deal, he had this to tell his new employers via their club's official website: ''I am incredibly happy to be a part of Boldklubben FREM after a period of injuries. The club has a strong tradition and a formidable energy in the stadium – I experienced it myself when I watched the match against Lyngby. After being out for two years, I am more than motivated to play for FREM. I have got a really good impression of both the coaching staff and managers, and the locker room seems close-knit, so we are all fighting for the same goal.''

The club's sporting committee members added: ''We are happy to introduce Justin as part of the squad. He has been training with us since November and has been following the rehabilitation plan he has been given by Dedicatio, with whom we have a good collaboration.''

''Justin is a fast and strong striker with a lot of explosiveness, which makes him a strong addition to the squad. He finishes well, works hard, and we are constantly building on him physically. When he gets in shape, he is a player who has the level to play at a higher level as well.”

With recurring injuries being his plight in his footballing career so far, Justin will hope to stay fit and help his side to finish in a respectable position in the league standings at the end of the current football season.

Given his Ghanaian root, he still remains fit to play for Ghana on the international stage despite playing for the Danish U17, U18 and U20 national youth teams.
