The 19-year-old teenager of Ghanaian descent has completed his move to the Danish second division side on a short-term deal ahead of the January transfer deadline day

Danish-born Ghanaian midfielder Solomon Opoku has inked a six-month contract with Danish 1. Division side Hillerød Fodbold, with the deal set to run out until the summer of 2024.

The attacking midfielder is joining the Hillerod-based side on a free transfer after ending his contract with Finnish side FC Honka last term.

"Solomon Opoku switches from Finnish FC Honka II to Hillerød Fodbold Elite. The 19-year-old midfield engine has played his entire youth at Brøndby IF, where the trip in the spring of 2023 went to Finland. Now the time has come for Solomon Opoku to turn out for Slotsbyens Team. The agreement runs until the summer of 2024," a statement over his signing read via the club's official website.

Sporting director Jackie Rasmussen was over the moon to have secured the Brondby lF youth product given his talent as a central midfielder.
"Solomon is a young player that we will be looking at in our environment this spring, he is exciting and has some solid qualities in the central midfield. We are well occupied in the central midfield, where the quality is incredibly high, it is healthy to have competition for places."

The youngster remains eligible to switch allegiance and play for Ghana at the international level despite playing for the Denmark U16 national youth team.
