German-Ghanaian winger Jamie Leweling has solidified his future with VfB Stuttgart, signing a contract extension that keeps him at the club until 2029.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, highlighting Leweling’s growing importance to the Bundesliga side. The new deal includes a salary increase and removes a previously existing exit clause valued between €20 million and €25 million.
Currently sidelined with a thigh muscle injury, the 22-year-old remains focused on his recovery and a strong return to the pitch.
Stuttgart’s sporting director, Fabian Wohlgemuth, expressed high regard for Leweling, stating, “Jamie embodies much of what defines VfB Stuttgart’s upward trajectory. His honest, passionate football and commitment to improvement have endeared him to our supporters. He has grown into a decisive player for us, and his call-up to the national team reflects the impressive performances he’s delivered in recent months.”
Leweling shared his gratitude for the club’s trust and support: “I know exactly what I have at VfB and am very happy about the contract extension. The coach, the management, and everyone at the club have been instrumental in my development. I’m eager to return to the pitch and continue from where I left off before the injury.”
Leweling has been a standout performer for Stuttgart, contributing significantly to their positive start to the season before his injury.
