The teenager has completed his transfer move to the Swedish second division outfit ahead of the start of the new football campaign

Ghanaian defender Charles Baah has joined Swedish Superettan side GIF Sundsvall from Ghanaian outfit  Attram De Visser Sporting Club on a four-year deal, the club have confirmed.

The 19-year-old budding centre-back is joining the NP3 Arena campaigners on a long-term contract following his successful trials last month.

An official confirmation over his capturing read: ''We can today announce that Ghanaian centre-back Charles Baah, 19, has joined GIF Sundsvall from Attram De Visser Sporting Club. The contract is for 4 years. Charles, born in 2005, was raised at the Attram De Visser Soccer Academy in Ghana – the same academy as Kojo Peprah Oppong. Baah came to Sundsvall in February for a trial and has since participated in all training sessions and matches during the pre-season.''

The Ghanaian youngster said such transfer move to the Swedish side is a dream come true for him and he is looking forward to achieving great things with his new employers, telling the club's official website: ''It is a dream come true! I feel so excited to be part of this amazing family. Now is the time to give it my all and achieve greatness with the team.''

Sporting director Joel Cedergren added: ''Charles is a physical centre-back with his strength in defence, especially in 1v1 situations and duel games. Since the difference between football in Ghana and Sweden is great, our common goal now is for Charles to learn the collective defence game and in attacking play to find the free player. He has already shown during the trial that he is willing to learn and good at taking instructions.''

''Charles and Kojo were teammates in the academy in Ghana, where Charles is very similar to Kojo in his playing style, curiosity and drive. We are delighted to have managed to sign Charles and are confident that he will be a great centre-back for us.''

Baah, who is yet to be cap-tied by Ghana at the senior national team level, is expected to form an integral part of the Giffarna when the 2025-26 football season begins later this month.
