The 19-year-old defender has penned a fresh term over extension with the Danish top division side, with his new deal set to run through to 2030
Ghanaian teenage sensation defender Stephen Acquah has signed a contract extension with Danish Superligaen outfit FC Nordsjælland, the club have confirmed.
The towering centre-back, who linked up with the Farum-based club from their Ghanaian feeder club Right to Dream academy in 2024, has now been tied down to a long-term contract given his magnificent performances as a budding star in the Danish elite division contest so far.
Acquah stated: ''I am happy that I have now extended my contract with FC Nordsjælland, because it is something I have worked hard for. I was very proud when I made my debut in the Superliga, and now I am just looking forward to the future.''
Sporting director Alexander Riget added: ''Stephen has developed a lot over the past year, and the autumn matches have shown that he is ready to fight for minutes in the Super League. He has good physical potential, so he can handle himself in one-on-one duels, and at the same time he also has a nice calmness with the ball. He is also versatile, because even though we see him as a center-back, he can also play right-back, for example. So we are happy to have extended Stephen's contract so that he can continue his development here with us, and together we have made a good plan for his future.''
Given his impressive outings with the youth ranks, Acquah was quickly drafted into the senior ranks of FCN in less than a year since linking up with them from Right to Dream academy.
He has already featured in 18 games for FC Nordsjælland across all competitions in this ongoing 2025/26 football season.
Acquah could make a strong case for him for a spot in Ghana's squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup if he maintains his sublime form throughout the current campaign.
