Texoma FC has announced the appointment of USL legend Solomon Asante as assistant coach ahead of the 2026 season.

The 35-year-old, who spent the just-ended season with Texoma as a player, brings extensive experience from the lower tiers of American soccer. A former USL Player of the Year, Asante is expected to help build a competitive squad for the upcoming campaign.

Reflecting on his new role, the ex-TP Mazembe star said:
"My life in soccer has taken me from Ghana, Congo, Arizona, Indiana, Nevada, and Texas. My career has taught me the technical nuances of the game and its power to unite. I am now eager to channel my experience into a coaching role, contributing as a dedicated mentor for this club."

Asante will serve under head coach Ben Clarvis, who praised the Ghanaian’s transition to coaching:
"We’re incredibly excited to welcome Solomon Asante back to Texoma FC in this new role. He’s a USL legend who brought professionalism, leadership, and a winning mentality every day as a player. His experience at the highest levels of the league and his understanding of what it takes to succeed will be invaluable to our locker room and staff. Having someone who knows the club and commands respect step into an assistant coaching role strengthens everything we’re building here."

During his USL career, the former Ghana international featured for Las Vegas Lights, Indy Eleven, and Phoenix Rising FC, making 205 appearances, scoring 57 goals, and providing 63 assists. Asante’s wealth of experience is expected to play a pivotal role in Texoma FC’s preparations for the 2026 campaign.
