The talented teenager of Ghanaian parentage has completed his move to the Dutch second tier outfit in this ongoing summer transfer window
Belgian-born Ghanaian youth star Joseph Amuzu has joined Dutch Eerste Divisie club FC Dordrecht on a three-year deal, the club have announced.
The 19-year-old winger is joining the Sheep heads on the back of a successful loan stint with league rivals Helmond Sport during the 2023/24 football season.
An excerpt of a statement confirming the signing of the KV Mechelen man reads: " Joseph Amuzu (18-08-2004) can now call himself Schapekop. The 19-year-old Belgian comes over on a free transfer from KV Mechelen and signs a three-year contract with an option for another year."
Amuzu shared his excitement over the move as he's determined to give of his best in achieving a successful season next term, telling the club's official website: "I'm very happy to be here! We will do our best to make it a great season.”
Sporting director Mark Ruijl added to his communications network upon the capturing of the talented teenager, " We see a lot of potential in Joseph. With his speed and creativity, Dordrecht attracts a winger who fits well with the desired playing style and can therefore develop well.”
He made 35 appearances, scoring 3 and assisting 3 in all competitions for Helmond Sport in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie 23/24 campaign.
Joseph, who is a sibling to RSC Anderlecht winger Francis Amuzu, remains eligible to play for Ghana at the international level.
Both were born to former Ghana U20 star Theophilus Amuzu.
