After a €2m transfer fee was agreed for his services, the 22-year-old attacking midfielder opted out of the transfer deal at the eleventh hour on transfer deadline day

Ghanaian attacking forward lbrahim Sadiq has revealed that he refused to make his transfer move to French Ligue 2 side AS Saint-Étienne, with the youngster affirming " I didn't think it was the right time for me to leave Häcken" as a summer move is being prioritised over his future with BK Hacken.

According to multiple reports, the representatives of the talented winger demanded an increment of enticement fee from the French suitors and that led to the collapse of the deal at the eleventh hour.

But the Ghanaian promising wing-forward has debunked the above-mentioned assertion stating the collapse of the deal had nothing to do with monetary issues as it boils down to his personal reasons.

"I went to France on Tuesday morning. Everything felt fine when I did my (medical) test. But the thing was that I didn't think it was the right time for me to leave Häcken," the ex-FC Nordsjaelland star told Newspaper Göteborgs-Posten

"I wanted to leave this summer in that case. When I got there now, it didn't feel right to leave Häcken. I didn't want to sign for that team because I got a bad feeling that it wasn't the right time for me to leave. It wasn't about money as I was the one who didn't want to move."

The 22-year-old is now set to spend time in the Swedish top-flight contest ahead of the start of the 2023 football campaign in the summit of the Swedish football competition.

Sadiq has been superb in the Allsvenskan division since making his move to the Gothenburg-based club from Danish elite side FC Nordsjaelland in February 2022.

His current deal with the Bravida Arena outfit will expire in December, 2025 and per his transfermarkt valuation, his market value currently stands at €1.5million.

He helped BK Hacken to annex the 2022 Allsvenskan title by scoring 7 and assisting 3 in 18 league games in the Swedish top-flight contest
