Ghanaian midfielder Lawrence Ofori could be on the verge of a move to Spain, with La Liga side Real Mallorca reportedly showing strong interest in signing him from Portuguese outfit Moreirense.
According to reports from Portugal, Mallorca are preparing an initial offer in the region of €1.5 million for the 27-year-old, though the figure is believed to be below Moreirense’s valuation. The Portuguese club is reportedly holding out for a fee between €2 million and €2.5 million.
Negotiations are further complicated by the fact that Moreirense only own 50 percent of Ofori’s economic rights, with the remainder held by fellow Portuguese side Famalicão. Portuguese outlet A Bola reports that discussions between the two clubs could intensify in the coming days, as Moreirense are open to cashing in on the midfielder during the January transfer window.
Ofori has not featured in competitive action since the end of August, after suffering a muscle injury early in the campaign. The injury came at a crucial time, as he had been a regular starter under coach Vasco Botelho da Costa.
Since returning to full fitness, Ofori has struggled to reclaim his spot in the starting lineup, fueling speculation about a potential move abroad.
With his contract set to expire on June 30, 2026, Moreirense may be motivated to sell the Ghanaian international rather than risk losing him for free at the end of the season.
