Brandon Thomas-Asante has expressed his excitement about working with Coventry City assistant manager, George Boateng, and believes it can take him to the next level in his career.

The Ghanaian striker has joined the Sky Blues from West Brom in the ongoing summer transfer for an undisclosed fee.

Thomas-Asante has reunited with Boateng, who was previously the assistant coach of the Black Stars, and has praised his familiarity with the coach's style.

"Obviously, I was very familiar and George (Boateng) would come down to watch me for West Brom (wich Albion) doing some scouting work for Ghana during his time there so he was familiar…so when I saw that he was a coach here, knowing that he had a fondness for my game, it made sense and obviously he comes with the credentials he’s got through his playing career and coaching career," he said.

The 25-year-old made his Coventry City debut in a 2-1 loss to Werder Bremen in a preseason game, and is eager to work with Boateng to improve his game.

"As well as working with the manager, definitely working with George is something that I feel like can give me the edge to take me to the next level," he added.

After scoring 12 goals and adding two assists in 43 games last season, Thomas-Asante flirted with a move to Hull City before joining Coventry City.

He will hope to continue his good form and earn a call-up to Ghana's squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Angola and Niger in September.
