Former AshantiGold SC attacker, Yaw Annor has stated his decision to naturalize for Togo was a very good one since he is having a Togolese descent already and believes he will get more playing time with the Hawks.
Annor's mother is a Togolese which makes him eligible to represent the West African county since he has not played for the Ghana senior national team.
He was just recently handed a call up to the Togo national team and was with them in Morocco for their game against Equatorial Guinea.
Speaking to Sikka FM in Kumasi, the ex- Bechem United star believes his decision to represent Togo at national level is the best and added it was a family decision.
“It was a family decision that led me to play for the Togo national team. I’m half Togolese, half Ghanaian.”
“I made the correct decision because I’m likely to get enough playing time with Togo. I’m yet to receive any prize for winning last season’s Goal King.”
The 24 year old was exceptional in the Ghana Premier League last season, bagging 22 goals in 30 matches to win the top-scorer award ahead of ex- Kotoko striker Franck Mbella Etouga, who notched 21.
His explosive form for AshantiGold attracted huge interest from Egyptian side Ismaily SC who splashed $200,000 for his signature.
