Granted, we’ve forgotten some of these players ever donned Kotoko’s red because they just weren’t very good, whereas with others it’s because they were only there for few weeks or months.

Kotoko have gone through so many players that you are bound to have forgotten some of them, so we're here to remind you of a few.

Albert Bruce

Bruce joined Kotoko in July 201o from Berekum Arsenals. During his spell with the Porcupines, Bruce was loaned out to Polish club Legia Warsaw in a three-year deal, but was unable to command a starting place in the team, which resulted in his loan deal being terminated in December 2012.

Bruce continued to pursue a career abroad, undergoing trials with Maltese side Qormi before being offered a deal, earning Kotoko a reported transfer fee of 50K Euros.

Akuffo Gershon Kwasi

The midfielder arrived at Kotoko in 2011 after a brief spell in Croatia. Injuries didn’t help his cause at Kotoko as he found it difficult to break into the Kotoko team. He was not a bad player, but nor was he a very memorable one.

Chances are that when you hear his name crop up in the future, it might take a while for you to register that he once donned the red shirt.

Abdul-Nafiu Iddrisu

The centre-forward was poached from the Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord Academy but now rechristened WAFA. He signed a three-year deal with the Porcupine Warriors but struggled to convince the Kotoko faithful. He was shown the exit route in 2013 with one year of his contract left.

David Offei

Offei had been immense for New Edubiase FC and caught the attention of many clubs but it was Kotoko that won the race to sign him on. However, at Kotoko, he endured a disastrous two-year spell before being released Amidaus Professionals.

Baba Abdul Rahman

Surprised?
The Black Stars left-back once played for Kotoko. Owned by Dreams FC, Rahman was loaned to Kotoko in 2012 for a season. He featured 25 times for the Porcupine Warriors and earned move to German outfit Gruether Furth.

Now with Championship side, Reading, the former Kotoko man had previously played for Schalke 04, Augsburg and Chelsea. If you asked a newbie Kotoko fan if Rahman played for Kotoko, he would probably argue this fact.

Gideon Baah

In 2007, Baah won a football reality show (MTN Soccer Academy). He received a number of prizes which included cash, car, trip to watch the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and two-week trial at Chelsea FC academy.

He joined Kotoko in 2010 and was one of the club’s most important players till he sustained a broken shin injury against Accra Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports stadium.

He made his injury return in 2011 and was rewarded with a contract at Finland’s FC Honka 2102 following his splendid performances for Kotoko.

Mutawakilu Seidu

The lanky goalkeeper recently joined Nigerian champions Rivers United after years of impressive performances for Enugu Rangers. He was a member of the Kotoko youth team between 2012 and 2014 but failed to break into the senior team. He joined Hearts in 2015 but was released after some abysmal performances.

Issah Yakubu

Having shone at Liberty Professionals, Yakubu joined Kotoko in 2012 on a three-year-deal.

Though he found life tough having to battle the likes of Michael Akuffo, Jordan Opoku and Daniel Nii Adjei for a spot in the Kotoko’s midfield. He stayed at Kotoko throughout the duration of his contract before Inter Allies signed him for an undisclosed fee in 2015.

Adama Ben Banh

The Ivorian defender was used fleetingly throughout his two-year stay at Kotoko. The struggle for places in a crowded defence was seeing him find it difficult to find a place in the side.

Daniel Larbi Koomson

The man with the magnetic left-foot found his way into the Kotoko club in 2013, starting his spell on a good note, he later fell off the pecking in the bridge after a career threatening injury. He couldn’t get into the Kotoko when he regained fitness and was released.

Seth Opare

The hard tackling midfielder joined Kotoko in 2017 after seeing out his contract with Aduana Stars. He struggled to command a place in the Kotoko team and was released just after a season by Dravko Lugarisic
