Former Black Stars head coach James Kwesi Appiah has been elected onto the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association for the next four years.

 
Appiah, who is heading to Sudan to hand their national team, polled ten votes out of the votes casted the 18 Premier League clubs to hand him such a role in the administration of football in Ghana.
 
He was backed by Asante Kotoko to vie for the position after his appointment by the club's owner, His Royal Majesty Otumfou Osei Tutu II to be part of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the club after the dissolution of 12-member board led by Dr. Kwame Kyei.
 
Also, Heart of Lions bankroller Dr. Randy Abbey, Frederick Acheampong and Nana Oduro Sarfo have all been retained on the Executive Council of the Ghana FA after receiving 12, 11 and 10 votes respectively.
 
Medeama SC board member Dr. Tony Aubynn has exited the Ghana Football Association Executive Council after polling seven votes.
 
The required number of individual needed on the EXCO is five but there was a tie between Elleony Amandy of Karela United and Bechem United CEO, Kingsley Osei Bonsu after they had polled eight votes. 
 
After the tie breaker, Kingsley Osei Bonsu defeated Elleony Amandy.
