Asante Kotoko brought an end to their three-game winless run with a commanding display, easing pressure on head coach Karim Zito after a convincing victory over struggling Basake Holy Stars at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Needing a response after recent setbacks, Kotoko delivered emphatically. Samba O’Neil opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Albert Amoah and Kwame Opoku added further goals to complete a dominant performance.
Amoah, making his return after his loan move from Libyan side Al Ahly Benghazi was confirmed, picked up from where he left off earlier in the season. His goal was the highlight of the afternoon, a stunning overhead kick that sent the home fans into celebration. Opoku later matched the moment with a spectacular bicycle kick to seal the win.

Kotoko controlled the match throughout, registering 14 shots, nine of which were on target, underlining their attacking intent. The result lifts the Porcupine Warriors to third place and keeps them in the title conversation, although they remain eight points behind leaders Medeama.
Basake Holy Stars remain just above the relegation zone after another difficult outing. Kotoko will next travel to Kpando to face Heart of Lions, while Holy Stars are set to take on Berekum Chelsea in their upcoming fixture.
