Former Ghanaian youth international, Abeiku Quansah has stated that the dwindle in form and performance in major youth tournaments among upcoming footballers is as a result of laziness and abuse of social media.
The former OGC Nice and Windy Professionals winger believes the thirst for engaging in social activities than focusing on their football careers among young players is a major threat that will barred the progress of football in the country and its potential to compete at a higher level, looking at how the Black Satellites and Black Starlets all failed to qualify for their respective World Cups tournaments.

"Ghana’s inability to qualify for youth tournaments is due to the fact that most young players of today are very lazy, they spend their precious time abusing social media instead of focusing on training," Quansah told Kyfilla.com.
“Ghana can only recover its lost image in youth tournaments only when these young players change their lifestyle," he added.
Quansah was a member of the Ghana national under-17 team in the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup and went ahead to play six matches in the tournament hosted by Korea Republic. He was also part of the Black Satellites squad that won the 2009 African Youth Championship in Rwanda.
