Head coach of Ghana’s Black Queens Kim Lars Bjorkegren has admitted there is pressure on them to deliver against Mali to boost their qualification chances which is why they will their all to secure the maximum three points
Ghana will cross swords with Mali later today in their second group game as they chase first win of the ongoing tournament while their opponents will need only a draw to advance having their first game against Tanzania
The Black Queens despite putting a great show in their first game still succumbed to a painful 2-0 loss to reigning champions South Africa and are defeat this time will see them exit the competition in the first round
In a pre-match interview, the Swedish tactician seeks luck this time for him and his girls given how unlucky they were in their opening game having come off the crossbar on two occasions
“We hit the bar twice [against South Africa] and we did everything right if we take away the most important thing [to score goals], but hopefully we will have a little bit more luck in the next round," Bjorkegren said
“Mali may only need a point to qualify, but our mentality is to win every game, whether it’s the group stage or the final. We’ve studied Mali closely, but we believe in our style and ability.”
Ghana will face Mali at 16:00GMT (4:00pm) at the Berkane Stadium later today
