The Confederation of African Football have rejected the Cape Coast Stadium- which was to serve as the home venue for Ghanaian representatives Medeama SC and Dreams FC in the 2023/24 CAF inter-club competitions.
After qualifying into the money zone, both teams per reports, submitted the Cape Coast Stadium to the continent's highest football governing body as where they will be hosting their matches.
However, according to the report from the recent inspection conducted, the facility has been rejected by CAF since it is currently not in a good state because it doesn't meet some requirements which are essentially needed to host senior international matches.
Both teams will now have to select a new venue as soon as possible with their competitions billed to start later next month.
New updates are that, both Medeama SC and Dreams FC will now resort to the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi since it is the only fit stadium in the country at the moment that is approved.
The Mauves and Yellows have been placed in Group D in the Champions League together with grand-masters Al Ahly, CR Belouizdad and Tanzanian champions Young Africans
And in the Confederations Cup, the 'Still Believe' side have also been housed in Group C alongside Rivers United, APC Lobito and Tunisian giants Club Africaine.
The 2023/24 CAF Inter-club completions have been scheduled to commence on the weekend of November 25-26, 2023.
