The Human Rights Court in Accra has adjourned the contempt case brought to it by Ashantigold SC against the Ghana Football Association to November 9, 2022.
This follows an injunction placed on the Ghana Premier League by the Human Rights Court which was lifted on Tuesday, 25 October, 2022 on its third hearing.
The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association were summoned to Court after neglecting an invite from the court for hearing of the substantive case of Ashantigold SC demoted from the Ghana Premier League.
Executive Council Member Randy Abbey was present at the Court where he could not attend before because he was not served, according to him, and was further tried in a mini trial case before the announcement of the postponement of the case.
Ashantigold SC and Inter Allies were demoted to the Division Two of Ghana Football after final investigation found them at fault in a match fixing and betting in their final match fixture of the 2020/21 season at the Len Clay Sports Stadium.
The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana FA and the Appeals Committee were in line insisting on their wrongdoings to finally demote them to the lower tiers.
However, unsatisfied Ashantigold SC proceeded to court to fight for their right for expunging them from the Association.
The Ghana Premier League 2022/23 continue on Saturday, 29 October, 2022 for Match Day 4 fixtures.
