Portuguese-American trainer Daniel Gaspar will be the new goalkeepers’ coach for the Black Stars as part of the newly assembled technical team led by new head coach Carlos Queiroz, ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 70-year-old brings a wealth of experience, having worked closely with Carlos Queiroz since 1992. Over the years, Gaspar has served as a goalkeeping coach, technical adviser and assistant coach across several club and national team assignments.
Gaspar is expected to replace Fatawu Dauda and will be tasked with improving the performance of Ghana’s goalkeepers as the team prepares for the global tournament.
His arrival is seen as a key addition to the technical setup, particularly in strengthening the defensive unit.
Dan Gasper will officially join Queiroz’s backroom staff when the new head coach is unveiled at the Alisa Hotel on Thursday, April 23, as part of the Ghana Football Association’s plans to reshape the team.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama, with Gaspar expected to play a vital role in ensuring the Black Stars are well prepared for the challenges ahead.
