AshantiGold Football Club is engaged in pivotal discussions with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) as they strive to regain their esteemed footballing position.

Following a tumultuous period marked by suspension due to association with banned officials implicated in match manipulation, notably President Kwaku Frimpong and Vice President Emmanuel Frimpong, the club now finds itself relegated to the Division Two League, stripped of all membership privileges.

Despite boasting a rich history as Ghana's third most successful club, AshantiGold faces an uncertain future. Expressing optimism in their ongoing dialogue with the GFA, the club underscores their commitment to reclaiming competitiveness in the upcoming 2024/25 season.

“For the past few months, we are in constant communication with the GFA to assist us in the pursuit to regain our footballing status. We therefore entreat all our loyal supporters to be patient and optimistic about our comeback to competitiveness in the 2024/25 season," the statement read.

However, potential reinstatement may necessitate restarting from Division Two, mirroring the aftermath of the match-fixing scandal involving Inter Allies.

While some clubs accepted their fate gracefully, AshantiGold's steadfast challenge of the ruling reflects their unwavering determination to triumph over adversity and restore their esteemed position in Ghanaian football.
