Former Ghana international, Stephen Appiah has been invited by FIFA to be part of the conductors of the 2023 U-17 World Cup draw which will be staged in Zurich on September 15, 2023.
The ex- Black Stars captain has been a champion of this competition before, having formed part of the Black Starlets side that won the 1995 U-17 World Cup in Ecuador- beating giants Brazil in the final.
Ghana didn't qualify for this year's edition, with their last appearance happening to be 2017 in India where they suffered a quarter final eviction to Mali.
However, the CAF representatives heading into this competition include current African champions Senegal, runners up Morocco, Mali and Burkina Faso.
The ex- Juventus star will be among the list of people to draw the partaking 24 nations in six groups that will consist of four teams, with each group getting a country each from all the four spots.
Stephen Appiah from the under 17, went on to be the first captain to qualify Ghana to their first ever FIFA World Cup at senior level in 2006, in Germany.
