Coach Godwin Attram has insisted he wants his side Attram De Visser (ADVSA) to start challenging for the Division One League next season, refusing to entertain the notion they deliberately crashed out of the MTN FA Cup.

ADVSA were humiliated 3-1 by fellow Division One campaigners Golden Kick FC in a semi-final showdown at TnA Stadium in Tarkwa over the weekend, cutting short their hopes of winning the trophy.

Attram De Visser are on course for their lowest Division One League (DOL) to conclude a stormy season on the pitch, falling far beyond even last term's fourth place.

With consistency still proving tough to come by – having managed two wins, one draw and three losses in their last six Division One League games, ADVSA are more likely than not to finish in the bottom half of the table as they are currently slumbering in 10th with 33 points.

Although a squad rebuild is required to give Coach Attram players better suited to his tactical system, the former Ghana international ambitiously doesn't want to hide behind excuses of needing time in delivering the trophy next season.

"Next year is going to be a different thing. We are actually looking forward to winning the league," Attram told Graphic Sports.

“This year, we transferred so many players outside the country, which affected us in the league. We played the FA Cup with strategy, but today it’s for Golden Kicks. The almighty God says it’s for them, and that’s fair, so I congratulate them.”

Attram moreover revealed that eight of his players became sick soon after arriving in Tarkwa, which unsettled his tactical arrangement.

“From the onset, we had eight players who were sick. They got sick immediately when we arrived here, and these are the things that affect performance.

“We had really prepared very well for this game, but these things happen. We had to change our selection and rely on other players. It’s not an excuse, but I want everyone to know I called for the postponement of the game, but the committee said no — we had to play.”
