The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has been advised to give new Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz "full control" over his backroom staff, including the removal of current assistants.
Football analyst and coach Christopher Nimley made the bold call after the appointment of the veteran Portuguese manager on Monday.
Queiroz, who is 73, was brought in to lead Ghana’s 2026 World Cup campaign after the departure of Otto Addo.
Speaking on Sporty FM in Accra, Nimley argued that for the former Egypt and Iran boss to succeed, the GFA must move away from its habit of "imposing" local assistants on foreign managers.
“Carlos Queiroz should be allowed to bring his own backroom staff. John Paintsil, Desmond Ofei and the entire current setup should be cleared,” Nimley said.
The vociferous football critic believes the former Real Madrid and Manchester United coach needs freedom to build his own structure and choose his own assistants.
