Former Black Stars attacker, Kevin-Prince Boateng has recounted his moment with the national team at the 2014 World Cup, addressed the brouhahas and explained how he was betrayed by the rest of his colleagues.

The German-born star was included in coach Kwasi Appiah's final squad for the Mundial in 2014 in Brazil but had to leave the team's camp in the course of the competition.

He featured from the bench against the USA in the opening game before starting against eventual champions Germany- his country of birth but wasn't in action against Portugal in the final group game.

Speaking on Vibe and Five in an interview, the versatile footballer says he got sacked from the Ghana team hotel during the World Cup for fighting on behalf of his colleagues but none stood in for him.

"I got kicked out from the national team and Schalke in the same season. We had a meeting, and I criticised them, and I said, 'they can't treat us like that' because we know how much they make, and they should invest in the organisation [and] give the players the money they deserved."

"They didn't like that, and they kicked me out," he recalled, adding that he received a letter under his door at 6 in the morning on the day of the crucial match against Portugal. The letter instructed him to leave the team hotel within 15 minutes and surrender his cards, officially terminating his participation in the tournament."

"No one [spoke]. I wasn't fighting for myself. I was fighting for the team. I saw them while going out with my luggage, and it was the worst moment. I said to [Muntari], the real team will say 'we are all not playing.''

The 36-year-old isn't playing actively anymore after announcing his retirement from just two months ago after ending his stay with German Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin.
