Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has met traditional leaders in Tumu as part of his tour of the Upper West Region, calling for their support to help grow football and promote unity.

The GFA president paid a courtesy visit to the traditional authorities in Tumu, where he thanked them for the warm welcome given to him and his delegation.

During the meeting, President Simeon-Okraku appealed for prayers, guidance and continued support as Ghana prepares for a busy period involving several national teams.

He said the coming months will be important for Ghana football, with national teams set to compete at major continental and international competitions, and stressed that football remains a strong force for unity.

President Simeon-Okraku also reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with traditional leaders and other stakeholders to develop the game and create opportunities for young people across the country.

He was accompanied by the Upper West Regional Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Sadugu Yahaya, and executives of the Sissala East Football Association.

Other members of his delegation included Chief of Staff Michael Osekre, GFA Regional Football Coordinator Daseebre Adu Asare, Dreams FC president Jiji Alifoe Mohammed, and Senior Communication Manager Patrick Akoto.

The Tumu visit forms part of the GFA president’s wider tour of the Upper West Region, which includes meetings with key stakeholders, inspections of football facilities and efforts to strengthen partnerships for sustainable football development.
