Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has brought his Upper West Regional tour to an end with a stakeholder meeting in Sissala East.
The engagement took place on Tuesday, January 3, 2026, at the Sissala East Municipal Hall in Tumu. It brought together leaders of the Sissala East Municipal Football Association, club officials and Catch Them Young referees for an open discussion on grassroots football development.
Officials from clubs across the municipality attended the meeting, which focused on strengthening cooperation and addressing challenges facing football at the local level. The session formed part of the GFA president’s approach of engaging stakeholders directly and listening to those working on the ground.
Earlier in the day, President Simeon-Okraku paid a courtesy visit to the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Adamu Yakubu. Their discussions centred on youth development, community growth and the role football can play in creating opportunities for young people.

During the stakeholder meeting, participants asked questions, shared their experiences and raised concerns about football development in the municipality. President Simeon-Okraku welcomed the feedback and said such engagements help shape better and more inclusive policies.
He reaffirmed the GFA’s commitment to working closely with local football authorities, clubs and officials to strengthen structures, solve challenges and create clear pathways for young talents.
The Sissala East engagement marked the final stop of the GFA president’s Upper West tour, highlighting his administration’s focus on dialogue, partnership and grassroots development.
