Ghanaian coach James Kwasi Appiah has been appointed as the head coach of the Sudan national team.

The 63-year-old has taken on the role of coaching the Sudan national team after reaching a successful agreement with the country's football association.

As part of his contract, the Asante Kotoko technical director will receive a monthly salary of US$50,000 in his capacity as Sudan's head coach.

Kwasi Appiah is expected to depart for Saudi Arabia, where the Sudanese team will be based due to the ongoing unrest in Sudan. There, he will begin his duties as the head coach of the Sudan national team.

Additionally, it is rumored that three Ghanaian coaches, including an Assistant Coach, Goalkeepers Trainer, and Fitness Coach (whose identities are yet to be determined), will join Coach Kwasi Appiah in the task of reshaping the Sudan national team in preparation for international competitions.

This marks the second time that the former Black Stars tactician has ventured into Sudan, having previously coached Sudanese top-flight side Khartoum Watani and guiding the team to the CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers in 2017.

It's worth noting that Kwesi Appiah is also currently in the running to become an executive member of the Ghana Football Association's Executive Council.
