Hearts of Oak are the 2024 Gbese Mantse Homowo Charity Peace Cup champions after beating Kpando Heart of Lions 8-7 on penalties after it finished 1-1 in regulation time- in a game they trailed until the close moments.

The Giant Killers came so close to doubling their lead in the last fifteen minutes but Kwadwo Obeng had his strong drive parried away by goalkeeper Benjamin Asare to a wasted corner kick.

With just two minutes to full time, Hearts of Oak finally got the equalizer through substitute Mohammed Hussein who rebounded into the net after Ransford Mensah's free kick went off the crossbar.

The game finished 1-1 after full time and Hearts of Oak went on to win 8-7 on penalty shootouts.
