The former Fulham U23 star is urging all and sundry across the west African nation to stay behind the beleaguered four-time Africans following their difficult start to the continental showpiece qualifying campaign last month
Ghana international defender Jerome Opoku says the Black Stars team would learn and turn things around after suffering from a back-to-back defeats to lvory Coast and The Gambia during the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations(AFCON) qualifiers in September.
The gangling centre-back, currently with Turkish Süper Lig outfit Basaksehir FK, is downhearted following their abysmal start to the qualifying series for the next year's main football tournament in Africa set to be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
Nonetheless, the former FC Arouca aggressive defender is still confident the Black Stars will bounce back to winning ways by getting their qualification campaign back on track in their remaining qualifiers fixtures in Group C going forward.
Opoku took to his social media handles to urge the fans to stick with them as they looks forward to turning things around in their subsequent matches.
He posted on X: ''A difficult couple of weeks . We will learn and turn it around . Stick with us, notoveryet GP.''
