Black Stars gaffer, Otto Addo has given update on the availability of English-born Ghanaian international Callum Hudson-Odoi after announcing his squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Nottingham Forest winger has been in Ghana for couple of days now for charity works and many indigenous outlet upon seeing him reported he's agreed to switch nationality to play for Ghana.

The 23-year-old had a decent campaign in the Premier League having scored eight goals and provided an assist in 29 league appearances.

With Odoi not getting England senior team call ups despite playing for most of their youth teams, many a Ghanaian football faithful have started calling for his inclusion in the Black Stars but the player has been nonchalant on whether he is ready or not despite series of attempts from the GFA to get him on board.

Otto Addo when quizzed about Hudson-Odoi, he was very honest and stated he hasn't spoken with the former Chelsea star on a possible invite.

"It is difficult to talk about the future. I haven’t spoken to him yet. To be honest, my head is not there at all. I’m fully focused on Mali."

The team is expected to open camp on Thursday, May 30, in Accra to hold some few team get-together and training sessions before they depart to Bamako in days time.

The four-time African champions had what isn't an impressive start to the World Cup qualifiers having won against Madagascar but lost to Comoros in their second game and will hope to seek redemption this time around.

The Black Stars will play as guests to Mali in Bamako on June 6, before they host Central African Republic in Kumasi on June 10, 2024.
