Former Communications Director at the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has pleaded with the domestic football governing body to reconsider its charges against Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, owner of Elmina Sharks.

Dr Nduom bemoaned his frustration after the All Blacks were awarded a penalty which helped them to beat Sharks 1-0 in the match-day 17 clash on Sunday, February 16 at the Nduom Sports Stadium.

After the match, chaos erupted after players and match officials assaulted the centre referee Eso Doh Morrison.

Dr. Nduom voiced his displeasure on social media, infuriating the GFA to charge him for violating Division One League regulations and the GFA Disciplinary Code.

The FA also went ahead to accuse Dr. Nduom of inciting violence among players, officials, and fans, leading to misconduct and denigrating the notoriety of the game.

However, Daara, has emphasized the significance Dr. Nduom has played in trying to help raise the bar of Ghana football. Daara advised the FA quash-off the charges against the business tycoon, as prosecuting is not necessarily the wisest choice always.

“We need people like Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom to invest in our game,” he told Asempa FM.

“Regardless of what has happened, it shouldn’t always be about charging people. I’ve heard an account that he even went on the pitch to calm the fans, so let’s exercise patience in decision-making.

“What if he gets frustrated and dissolves the team? He has his own stadium, and the GFA should consider these things. Any decision he makes will affect the Division One League, and we must also remember that he has previously sponsored the league.

“Maybe he is wrong, but sometimes, diplomacy is needed to resolve such issues,” Daara concluded.
