Former Ghanaian international Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, has queried the dedication level of the Black Stars and feels the current squad has no character and doesn't exhibit any passion when given the opportunity to represent the nation.
The Black Stars had their woes deepen in the ongoing 2025 AFCON qualifiers having succumbed to a painful 2-0 defeat to the Falcons of Jediane last Tuesday afternoon in match-day four in Benghazi.
Ahmed Hamed Mahmoud opened the scoring account for Sudan in the 62nd minute before starman Mohammed Abdelrahman doubled the lead three minutes later to seal the victory.
It is looking very unlikely for Ghana to qualify for the next AFCON having gone without a win in their opening four matches and are currently sitting on the third position in Group F with just two points.
Reacting to the current situation, the former Udinese Calcio midfield anchor questioned the dedication level of the Black Stars players since they don't replicate what they do at their various clubs for the national team.
"They do very well at their clubs, but the moment they get to Ghana, it turns into something else. You don’t have a team, you don’t have character, you don’t have passion, you don’t have anything", he said in an interview on Accra-based Onua TV.
Emmanuel Agyemang Badu made 78 appearances for the senior men national team during his time and was also an integral member of the Black Satellites squad that won the Africa Youth Championship and the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2009.
The four-time African champions will regroup again next month to take on Angola and Niger to wrap up the qualifiers and will have to win all these games and hope results from the group matches will favour them.
