The management committee member believes the immediate dismissal of the current under fire manager would not augur well for the west African superpowers given the next Mundial qualification games at stake
Black Stars' management committee member Akwesi Agyeman has asserted that the sacking of Ghana Black Stars coach Otto Addo will derail the country's chances of qualifying to the 2026 FIFA World Cup following a bright start to the qualification campaigns.
With Ghana missing out on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco, the 49-year-old former Borussia Dortmund talent nurturing gaffer has come under siege with public outcry calling for his head.
Nonetheless, one of those in charge of his coaching stint with the four-time African champions feels the football fans uproar for the immediate sacking of the manager is unacceptable given the task handed to him by the nation's football governing body right after his appointment.
''I don’t think this is the right time for a change,” he asserts in an interview with Hitz FM. ''He’s been brought back to build something for the long term. If you consider the long-term vision, consistency is essential. Football is about results, but right now, in just a few months, we have two critical games against Chad, home and away, to keep our World Cup hopes alive.''
