Jordan Amissah, the goalkeeper of the Black Meteors, is facing the loss of his grandfather shortly after making his highly anticipated debut for Ghana.
Amissah finds himself caught between the joy of fulfilling a lifelong dream and the immense sorrow of his beloved grandfather not being present to witness this significant milestone in his burgeoning career.
Despite the emotional turmoil, Amissah displayed resilience and strength as he guarded the goal during the Black Meteors' commanding 4-1 victory over the formidable Egyptian giants at the Zamalek Sports Complex.
The Sheffield United goalkeeper showcased his skill by saving a penalty, contributing to Ghana's comfortable triumph. Emmanuel Yeboah's hat-trick, coupled with Emmanuel Appau's goal just before half-time, secured the team's victory.
Reflecting on his journey, Amissah took to Twitter to express his sentiments, saying, "Since I was a young boy, it has been my dream to wear the black star on my chest and represent the country I hold dear to my heart. It was a promise I made to my late grandfather. I am overjoyed to see this promise turn into reality, but deeply saddened that you are not here to witness it!. This one was for you, I know you watching," he shared.
