Kurt Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has praised his administration for their efforts in enhancing the performances of Ghana's national teams over the past year.

During this period, Ghana's teams have shown significant competitiveness on multiple fronts. The Black Stars competed in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), and the Black Queens made a triumphant return to the continental stage for the first time since 2018.

Additionally, the Black Princesses and Black Satellites secured gold medals at the 2023 African Games, with the Black Princesses also qualifying for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.

Speaking at the GFA's 30th Ordinary Congress, Okraku lauded the achievements of these teams and reiterated his administration's goal for the Black Stars to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

"We have made strides in our national team performances, with qualifications to the WAFCON, the men's AFCON, and we are currently in a strong position in our quest to qualify for the [2026] World Cup," Okraku stated.

The Black Stars are currently second in Group I of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, tied on points with group leaders Comoros. The team will return to action next month as they begin their campaign in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
