The Pride and Passion posted a dramatic 1-1 draw - playing host to Samartex in Nalerigu last weekend, while the Holy Stars have lost their last three matches on a roll, propelling them to a precarious position.

Match Preview

Holy Stars and Karela have not met in a game before This clash will, however, be their first meeting. In front of a packed Crosby Awuah Memorial Stadium crowd, they will be aiming to take advantage of a Karela side who were initially based in Anyinase before the team was purchased and taken away to Nalerigu.

Both club’s Premier League form hasn’t been impressive, though. Holy Stars lurks in 15th position with four points, while Karela are 10th with five points.

Team News

There are no injuries in the fold of Holy Stars as coach Abdulai Gazale hopes to keep the three points at home.

Elsewhere in the Karela team, there should be little variation in Jimmy Corblah’s lineup. The former Great Olympics coach has been reluctant to make significant changes to his XI this term and will likely call upon a very similar side to the one that took a late point against Samartex.

Basake Holy Stars possible starting lineup:
Aboubakar (GK); Kwame, Asante, Author, Baffour; Boadi (C), Opoku; Oteng, Simba, Tweneboah; Yakubu

Karela possible starting lineup:
Ganiu (GK) (C); Abdul, Aboubakar, Aidoo, Konadu; Asigre, Gariba; Kunate, Latif, Nurudeen; Yahaya

What time does Holy Stars vs Karela kick-off?

Location: Anyinase, Western Region
Stadium: Crosby Awuah Memorial Stadium
Date: Sunday 13 October
Kick-off Time: 3:00pm / 16:00 GMT

We say: Holy Stars 1-3 Karela

A defensively depleted Karela may already be casting one eye and should not leave Anyinase with any clean sheets against an energetic Holy Stars, who can be sure to hustle and harry their visitors.

However, the Passioners should make their presence felt at the other end of the field.
