Vision FC completed a league double over Young Apostles for the second time in the Ghanaian top flight as they secured a 2-0 win at Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in a match that featured nine changes.
Two stunning efforts from Edmond Asante and Emmanuel Kyei Baffour goals - and before the hosts brought on four players, while Apostles made five changes - ensured Nana Kwaku Agyemang's side became the receiver of the three maximum points.
Having recorded a 1-1 draw in December's reverse fixture, the result serves as a bump in the road for Apostles who have now slowed back to defeat - having managed two wins, one draw and three losses in their last six.
Vision continued to prod, but a lively start from both sides meant Apostles also carried a threat, with the away side countering to draw out a superb double save from Godwin Ametefe as he kept out Hussein Issah and Adamu.
The beginning of the second half failed to deliver on the promises of the first with both teams making a tentative start after the break. But, out of nowhere, a Vision well worked play saw Asante arrow home the hosts first goal on the day in the 82nd minute.
With 2 minutes to bring the match to a conclusion, the heavens smiled on Vision FC as they scored their second on the day through Kyei Baffour.
Having had eyes on moving into 12th with 39 points, Vision move within two points of Apostles. The 'Agya Na ƆwƆ Tumi' Boys fell downwards to 15th on 37 points, opening up an opportunity for Karela to leapfrog them on Sunday when the Passioners shockingly mashed former Premier League Champions Medeama 3-1 at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale.
