Medeama SC returned to the summit of the Ghana Premier League table with a hard-fought 1–0 win over Swedru All Blacks at the Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium on Sunday.
In a match defined by defensive resilience and patient buildup, Kamaradini Mamudu emerged as the hero for the hosts, producing a moment of magic in the 74th minute to finally break the deadlock. His composed finish from the edge of the box proved the difference in an intense battle that tested Medeama’s attacking persistence.
Swedru All Blacks deserve credit for their disciplined defensive shape, which kept the game goalless for much of the contest. The Premier League returnees frustrated the Mauve and Yellow with compact defending and well-timed challenges, but they eventually cracked under pressure as Medeama turned up the tempo in the closing stages.
The victory lifts Ibrahim Tanko’s side back to first place on the table with 16 points, one clear of Aduana FC after matchday seven. Medeama’s ability to grind out results in difficult matches continues to underline their championship credentials.
Swedru All Blacks, meanwhile, drop to 13th as they continue to search for consistency in their first season back in the top flight. They will look to respond positively when they host Karela United in their next fixture.
