Asante Kotoko played very well and won 3–0 in their Matchweek 26 game of the Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Even though Nations FC attacked strongly and created many chances, Kotoko stayed calm in defence and attack. They scored early and then added two late goals to make sure of the win in front of their home fans.

Kotoko took the lead in the 23rd minute when their striker Albert Amoah scored with a confident finish after a steady start to the match.

Nations FC pushed hard and had many chances, finishing with 13 shots and eight on target. However, Kotoko defended strongly and did not allow them to score.

While Kotoko enjoyed a slight edge in possession (54%), they were notably efficient in attack, making the most of their limited opportunities.

The decisive moment arrived late in the match when centre-back Samba O’Neil calmly converted from the penalty spot in the 86th minute to double the lead and effectively end Nations FC’s hopes.

There was still time for further punishment, as forward Morifing Donzo added a third goal with a well taken penalty deep into stoppage time (90+1), rounding off an emphatic scoreline that perhaps did not fully reflect the Abrankese sides' attacking efforts.

Statistically, Kotoko registered eight shots, with three on target, alongside three corner kicks and three yellow cards. Nations FC, meanwhile, recorded 46% possession, two corners, and four bookings in a frustrating outing.

In the end, Kotoko used their chances better and finished the game strongly to secure a comfortable win.
