Young Apostles continued their strong start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season with a narrow but deserved 1–0 victory over Eleven Wonders at the Swedru Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The Agya Na Ɔwɔ Tumi Boys, led by coach Abu Abdul-Hanaan, claimed all three points thanks to a late strike from 18-year-old attacking midfielder Richmond Opoku, who climbed off the bench to once again proved to be their match winner.

Opoku, a former Asante Kotoko player who joined the Apostles from Nsoatreman FC before the start of the campaign netted the decisive goal in the 84th minute, finishing off a well-worked attacking move to silence the home crowd.

The speedy teenager’s composed finish was enough to separate the sides in an evenly contested affair, with the Apostles’ defensive discipline ensuring they held on to their slender lead in the closing stages.

The goal marks Opoku’s fourth of the season in three games, continuing his superb run of form. He previously scored in the club’s 1–1 draw away at Hohoe United, in their 2–1 win over Dreams FC at Wenchi, and now adds another to his growing tally against Eleven Wonders.

The result extends Young Apostles’ promising start to the campaign, moving them to the 4th spot up the table with 7 points and solidifying their early credentials as one of the league’s surprise packages.

It’s more frustration for rock-bottom Eleven Wonders, who remain winless after four games, as Odartey Lamptey’s side huffed and puffed in possession but failed to make it count where it mattered most.
