Young-sensation Theophilus Ayamga has admitted there has been an approach from Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak as reported earlier in the local media with some other clubs also looking to secure his service.

The 16-year-old burst into the scene after his outstanding display for the Black Starlets in the last WAFU Zone B U-17 boys championship which was held in May this year.

In the just-ended Ashanti Regional Inter-School and Colleges boys soccer championship, Ayamga once again had a fantastic tourney after playing a vital role in helping his school Osei Kyeretwie SHS emerge champions - their first win since 2008, having scored in the final against Simms SHS.

His consistent unmatched performances has gotten him on the radar of so many clubs in the country and also in abroad with two Ghanaian heavyweights Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko all expressing interest.

However, in a recent interview on Kumasi-based Akoma FM, the mercurial midfielder confirmed Hearts of Oak have approached him but his focus is currently on getting a proper development for his career since he is still young and is looking forward to playing to the highest level.

"As a player, I do not deal with clubs directly, so they approached my manager, who informed me that Hearts had contacted him and wants to sign me.

"At this young age, it is a great privilege for me to be playing in the Ghana Premier League for clubs such as Hearts, Kotoko, maybe Nsoatreman, and the rest, but I believe that the development stage is very good for me, as a young player coming up, I need to develop more than go into bigger matches that are not my size."

Theophilus Ayamga has returned to school and received a huge standing ovation and a round of applause from his classmates at Osei Kyeretwie SHS.
