The tough-talking football administrator believes the current Ghanaian league holders did not win the contest on merit given their accumulated points at home in the just ended top-flight campaign

Ghana Premier League Champions, FC Samartex won the league trophy of the 2023/24 football season through corruption and bribery, according to former Ghana FA boss Dr. Nyaho-Nyaho Tamakloe.

En route to their domestic title triumph this season, the Samartex Park outfit amassed 61 points out of which 48 were garnered on home soil to emerge champions of the top-flight competition this term.

Given this remarkable feat, the Hearts of Oak fire-spitting football administrator has questioned the manner in which such feat was achieved in winning the league title as he believes match officials were compromised through bribery and corruption in order to favour them in their fixtures judging from their accumulated points at home.

"Very sad!," the former Hearts of Oak fire-spitting CEO began by firing to 3FM." You ask yourself how can one unknown club win 16 out of 17 matches on their home ground. If you are a bit into football, ask yourself this simple question. And the 16 matches that they won on their home grounds gave them about 48 points, making them winners already. And this is through corruption and bribery."

The football administrator-cum-politician registered his displeasure on bettings as he consider it to be a major canker derailing the progress of the game on the local scene.

"That is why at the moment clubs like Hearts of Oak who will not give money – and people should listen to me very carefully – or Kotoko have all fallen back but I can tell them we are coming back,” he said.

“The two leading clubs shall come back in a different form and those who have been creating this confusion that is destroying Ghana football, that is why we are nowhere on the continent. Football has been taken over by betting."
