Ghanaian international Ernest Nuamah is very close to full recovery and has already started training after almost a year out an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Nuamah sustained the serious injury in April last year when in action for his club Olympique Lyon against Lille in round 28 of the French Ligue 1 last season
He lasted only seven minutes in that particular game having tried to contest for a ground duel with Lille’s Gabriel Gudmundsson but came off worse leading to his inability to carry on with the game.
He suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury after the scans and was expected to be sidelined for 6 to 12 months but has gladly returned in the tenth month and has already hit the grounds running.
The mercurial winger who before was a target for some Premier League clubs, began his recovery late last year with series of gym works but the good news is that he is now fully fit and entered the pitch yesterday to begin ball works.
The initial updates that the Right to Dream Academy graduate could miss the entire 2025/26 season isn’t most likely to happen as he is expected to bounce back as quick as possible to feature in some of their matches in the ongoing campaign.
Even though his exact date for return has yet to be communicated but Ernest Nuamah just can’t wait and will be hoping to make the Black Stars squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup which comes off in the summer.
