Nations FC owner, Dr. Kwame Kyei has stated emotionally that he has regretted venturing into Ghana football in the first place on the back of what transpired in his side's Ghana Premier League match-day 33 clash against Basake Holy Stars over the weekend

The exciting end-to-end action at the Crossby Awuah Memorial Park ended abruptly after Nations FC walked the pitch in what they described as poor officiating when they were trailing by 1-0

Reports are that the Abrankese-based club felt cheated throughout having had most of the incidents not going in their favour but got triggered after Basake Holy Stars were awarded a second penalty with few minutes to end the half time.

In their statement, Nations cited poor officiating, inadequate security personnel, security concerns as the main reason of not continuing the game and are hoping Ghana FA will look deeply into the matter to address it as it should or there has been rumours that they will think of boycotting the league

Speaking on Accra-based Asempa FM, the business mogul disclosed he's regretted investing in Ghana football following how his club suffered a bad officiating yesterday in Anyinase and was reportedly even assaulted by some of the home fans

He further stated we haven't learned anything from the Nsoatre incident which sadly led to the death of staunch Asante Kotoko supporter Nana Pooley early this year

“I’m being honest, I regret getting involve in Ghana football. Truth be told, I wasn’t happy with what transpired in the match. We expect that things will change for the betterment of our game”

"We have not learned anything from what happened in Nsoatre with regards to the death of Nana Pooley," Dr Kyei said.

"I believe it was good for me to be at Ayinase, but as a country, we have not learned anything from what happened," he added.

The Eagles headed into the game as the league leaders and needed only four points from their remaining two matches to win the league

But as it stands they hasn't been any decision yet from the GFA as to whether the game will be replayed or Holy Stars will be awarded all three points as punishment to Nations FC - who failed to honour the game
